Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Injury, and Risky Behaviors
The use and withdrawal from benzodiazepines can sometimes lead to feelings of suicidal ideation or urges to self-harm, or harm others. However, Beating Benzos, our support team, and our members are not equipped or trained to provide assistance or counseling for these situations. As a peer-support platform, we cannot offer medical advice. It is crucial that if you experience any of these feelings, you immediately reach out to a healthcare professional or emergency services.
Content relating to these matters can be highly triggering and overwhelming for other members. For this reason, we will remove any content that violates these guidelines, not as a form of punishment, but to safeguard both you and the community.
If you're having trouble finding appropriate support for these feelings, we can help guide you to suitable services. Please understand, this is the extent of our ability to assist with such issues.
We strongly urge members who come across posts or Direct Messages containing threats of self-harm or harm towards others to report them immediately.
How to report a message:
-
Click the 'meatball' menu (...) in the top-right corner of the post or message.
-
