It took me a long time to find things that calmed me. I think in the beginning it was just so bad nothing helped. But I have found things now that I’m not in crisis 24/7.

Hot baths

lavender oil mixed with Vicks cream

herbal tea with cream

walks

Soft night gowns and sheets

an Extra fan in my room

driving around with music

watching movies on my friends couch

these aren’t things that fix it… but they help enough to be worth doing ❤️

Thank you for sharing this. it is difficult to get out of anxiety state and be able to do what works for.  I found the coping strategies of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy a few years ago and they immediately became my new favorite counseling theory put easily into practice.  I can do this without a therapist and start with one calming breathing exercise and go from there to finding a center in the middle of all of this.

Take a look at Eckhart Tolle and his many videos and books as they’ve really helped in my own recovery. ❤️

Benzo free for 12 years. Very well apart from histamine problems following one Covid vax four years ago.
