Laurie H Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Hello. I tapered off Klonopin 1mg > .5 mg this past year. It took me eight months with very few side effects and I'm doing really well. My question is: I just started tapering off of Effexor 37.5 mg. I'm doing hyperbolic tapering and it will take me until Sept, 2026 to completely be free of the drug. Any suggestions regarding whether I should try to come off of Klonopin during this period or wait until I'm off Effexor? Thank you. WebDevElijah Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 @Laurie H Congrats on the progress you’ve made. I’m currently on Zoloft and have been tapering Valium for the past three years. For now, I’ve decided not taper my SSRI because I know it’s providing me with some relief. My plan is to address tapering the SSRI only after I’ve fully tapered off the benzodiazepine, as I recognize the support it’s offering me during this process. 1 Quote Click Here to Learn about my story Current Medications: Valium: Started around 35mg and have tapered over 3 years down to 6.8mg. Laurie H Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 I understand that reasoning. I think I'm going to continue focusing on the Effexor. When I cut my Klonopin dose from 1mg to .5mg, I had no issues except for a few nights of wild dreams. It took me eight months. Thank you for your comment. 1 Quote Klonopin .5 mg 1x a day Effexor 37.5 mg 1x a day Estradiol patch .0375 every 7 days
