WebDevElijah Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Age is No Barrier to Healing Some encouragement this morning for all those members who consider themselves elderly or too old to recover successfully! This is a lovely email I received from a benzo recoverer yesterday and he has given me permission to share it with you all. He was on benzos 56 years but I never realised his age as he was asking about muscle strength so I assumed he was a younger man… “Hi Rosalind, Thanks, but don’t think you are old at a mere 76. I am 88 and I feel great except for the Benzo w/d problems. People cannot believe I am 88. It’s true. I feel about 48 since I started walking. I have high hopes of swimming. I am in Gran Canaria for 6 months of the year and have my own pool and the sea only 5 minutes away. I don’t feel old and I don’t think old. I am even making travel plans (finance permitting) for the next 10 years. Rosalind, you are a great lady who has helped so many. Please don’t let age restrict you. I recall you had severe health problems earlier in your life. So have I. I was taking benzos from the age of 30 up to 86 but now, with a fantastic healthy plant-based diet, a little exercise, and a positive attitude, I feel I can do anything and I want you to feel that way, too. Onwards and upwards!!” Remember age is all in the mind and we are conditioned by society to expect ill health when past a certain age. This doesn’t have to be true for any of us. Don’t let age prevent you believing in your own healing. Click Here to Learn about my story Current Medications: Valium: Started around 35mg and have tapered over 3 years down to 6.8mg.
