WebDevElijah Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I'm 16 months off benzos, and it's been a wild ride. I never thought I'd last one day after I jumped—I was so terrified—but here I am. I've struggled through, and every day brought a new chance to put this nightmare behind me. It does get better. If you're struggling, just know "windows and waves" is a totally accurate term. Learn to surf the waves, and when the windows come, take the time to look out and enjoy. Time is the ultimate magic potion for healing. I'd say I'm almost healed. I still have some rough times, but they're nowhere near as bad as they were in the beginning. I was on 0.5 mg Klonopin and did a dry daily micro taper, jumping when I was down to a speck. My jump date was December 13, 2019. When I first jumped, I used to count every single hour and every single day. Now, I sometimes forget what month I'm on and hardly worry about it anymore. This whole experience has given me strength I never thought I had. Keep fighting—I believe in you all. This will probably be my final update, as I feel well enough to leave the groups. Best wishes, and thanks to everyone who helped me through this experience! I'm not 100 percent, but I'm confident in my ability to take it from here. I will never forget a single one of you. Hugs!
