WebDevElijah Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 My story in a nutshell is: I was taking 5-10 mg of v, sometimes daily but usually 3-4 times a week for muscle spasms for 10 years. I was put on the v to help adjustment to the AD Zol. I weaned myself off of Z two years ago with the intent to wean off v next. But that didn’t happen due to life circumstances. Fast forward to two years later and my doctor retired. Thankfully most new doctors are aware of the dangers of benzos. And my journey began the beginning of April 2020. The first three months were difficult ( definitely an understatement) but after that it got easier by listening to my body, reading the units of this wonderful site and acceptance that I had to go through this to better myself. I jumped the first or second week of October. I have been symptom free for weeks, and honestly feel better than I have felt in years!! I am preparing myself to leave this site, because it brings back memories of the first three months. But I want to tell you a few things I learned from this experience. * Always love yourself * Forgive the doctor(s) that gave you these pills ( this is for YOU) * When you are suffering stay away from the trigger posts, read the positive posts only * Reassure yourself that you will get through this, self soothing talk and 5-5-5 breathing was a tremendous help to me. * Remember that you are not alone and the administrators and moderators on this site have been through this also and care about your well being. And most of all, realize you WILL get through this and once on the other side the relief, joy and feeling of freedom is remarkable Click Here to Learn about my story Current Medications: Valium: Started around 35mg and have tapered over 3 years down to 6.8mg.
