I turned 70 last February. I’m 9.5 years benzo-free after taking one form of benzo or another for around 35 years. I cold-turkeyed twice when I fell pregnant. People ask me if I have healed from benzos... well...

 

Over the past few months, I packed up the entire house to get ready for our move back to Brisbane.
Last week, I did most of the bond clean—my husband focused on the outside.
On moving day (Friday), I outworked my daughter and stepdaughter as I had been hard at it several hours before they arrived.
I’ve been eating takeaway food like "normal" people with no ill effects because I simply couldn’t find what I needed for cooking, and I didn’t have the energy or time to cook anyway.
I’ve pretty well got the house organized on my own in 3 days—Saturday, Sunday, and this morning. Most of yesterday was taken up buying essential furniture.
I’ve done some gardening because the pathways were overgrown.
I’ve been sleeping better.
I’m tired but not exhausted, and I’m recovering well after a hard day’s work.
Considering how I felt 3 years ago when we moved 400 km north, I feel so much healthier and have much more energy than I had back then.
I’ve never claimed to have 100% healed before, but I’m claiming it now️
BTW, I will be cleaning up my act very soon in terms of the quality of my food consumption because my body won’t forgive me forever for eating takeaway.
