BluePosion Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hi, I have been in a bad wave for a a couple of weeks but now i feel like it isn't WD. I fear i have urinary tract infection and after a few days of rollercoaster of symptoms i am starting to feel really sick. My main symptoms are frequent pee, like every hour even if i didnt drink anytjing at all, fever sensation but my temperature is normal, my head feels like burning and i have horrible blur vision, worst than ever, i also feel very dizzy with some nausea, some times i feel like nails in my belly and sides. I am gonna do an urine test to see if i have infetion but i fear they are gonna tell me to take antibiotics. Are there any safe that wont send me to the worst acute WD? James Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hey. First off, sorry you're feeling unwell. In my w/d I experienced what I thought was a UTI just like you are now. I could have sworn I had one. I got a test from the pharmacy and it was negative. I'll bet you will test this way as well. During my w/d I had all my waterworks basically shut off. I was having a bowel movement about every 12 days. I swore I was going to die from being constipated. I imagined myself in the ER saying I have an emergency but maybe we should wait to see if I go on my own. What a terrible conundrum. I was not sweating at all. No matter what I did, I didn't sweat. My skin was terribly dry at the time. My hair was like straw. I had burning sensations that made me want to try to urinate. When I did the amount was inconsequential. I remember thinking that if my kidneys stopped working I would really be in for it. They never stopped working. Yours will not stop either. As far as antibiotics, I took some that were specifically for UTIs. My wife had some left over from something. (we are both in excellent shape with zero health issues or weight issues) I had zero reactions from the antibiotics. Nothing. I think you'll be safe but I'd bet you do not have a UTI. Great luck and just remember that this is not for the faint of heart. You are a very strong person or you would not have embarked on this journey. Keep it going! 1 Quote Absolutely zero psychotropic medication.

James Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Ok, ok. Calm down. You're going to be ok. Of this I am certain. Think of it this way. How long will it take for you to get healthy from the antibiotics? Whatever it is break it into smaller amounts of time, like days. Think to yourself if it's going to take a week, then say to yourself, "Ok, today is Monday. I have 6 more days of this and it's over." The same strategy can be applied to the whole w/d thing. To heal that UTI you're going to need cranberry juice. This makes your urine more acidic leading to the eradication of the bacteria. Make sure you drink way more water than normal. Hit that cranberry juice like a champ. You'll be ok in no time. Like I said, this is NOT for the faint of heart. You are a strong person. Let's go. Quote Absolutely zero psychotropic medication.

Hi James, I am here cause antibiotics blew my nervous system, that led me to take benzos daily for 2 and 1/2 months and then i couldnt come off. It's been a year and i am still trying to fix my guts problems caused by the antibiotics, it wiped my guts and i got candida overgrowth that i still havent been able to get rid of. And now more antibiotics? i couldnt bear that, besides the hi probability of taking me back to the starting spot of my WD, to an acute phase that i barely survived once. James Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I completely understand and agree w/ you. There are so many variables we all face in this journey of the mind. All I can do is wish you well. You know your situation better than anyone as I do mine. That's all I got. I have never heard of antibiotics causing what you described. What a nightmare for you! Stay strong! WebDevElijah Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 When tapering off benzodiazepines, it's essential to avoid certain antibiotics that can interact negatively with the medications. Specifically, macrolide antibiotics (like erythromycin and clarithromycin) and fluoroquinolones (like ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin) should be approached with caution. These can potentially enhance the sedative effects of benzodiazepines, leading to increased side effects.
